This was a return visit to Ruthin because we both enjoyed our stay at the castle. We returned to visit some of the local attractions that were closed on our first visit. We loved staying at the castle and the spa. We booked in for two sessions and had a fantastic time. The hotel is steeped in history. The grounds are beautiful and are blessed with a muster of peacock's that have free roam of the grounds. We notice this time there are sandwich style boards scattered around the grounds highlighting interesting parts of the castle and grounds. Every member of staff that I spoke to were friendly and happy to answer any questions. The member of staff who manages the Bazaar Spa was friendly and remembered us from last time which was friendly. We did have a strange thing happen to us we'd always taken the same route to the spa which involved a staircase and several changes of direction. We went to take the same route back to our room, which was directly over the Spa, we took the 'back stairs' route back went through the usual door but came out virtually opposite our room. I'd love to find the answer out to what had happened. I must add the Castle is haunted by Lady Grey, whose grave is in the castle grounds. Although at the present time it's closed off because of a collapsed wall. Our only complaints are that I walk with crutches and we ended up in the room furthest away from reception. We asked to be moved, but we were told there were no other deluxe rooms available on our arrival day or the following day. After that, it seemed pointless to move rooms then. We were offered a down grade, which we wouldn't take. The second point may seem pointless to most, but it's important to me. There was no rubber bathmat available. I asked upon arrival, and the person on reception said it would be available that evening. I ended up asking twice more. I ended up using a towel to prevent me slipping

My friend & I visited recently for a much needed, overnight spa break. The grounds of the hotel are absolutely stunning, with many free roaming peacocks & hens. We received a lovely warm welcome at reception upon checking in. Our standatd twin room was clean, cosy & comfortable with everything we needed. The spa & treatment we received was so relaxing & the therapists, lovely & very accommodating. The food was good, although we didn't eat a lot as neither of us are big eaters! The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and the grounds (including the remnants of the original castle) are splendid. We enjoyed the views and autumn colours as we explored them before breakfast. The hotel building itself is an interesting quirky hotch pitch with a grand staircase, several paneled 'state rooms' and many long corridors. Our room was large with a king sized bed and super views of the grounds. The food in the restaurant was good and the staff were all delightful.

I recently stayed at Ruthin Castle Hotel & Spa, and overall, it was a memorable experience. The staff truly stood out—they were incredibly warm, attentive, and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Whether it was at the reception, restaurant, or spa, everyone went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable The unique ambience and the exceptional service made my stay enjoyable. With a few improvements, Ruthin Castle could easily reach its full potential.

The castle is really lovely. The grounds are gorgeous and there are peacocks and squirrels everywhere. We had a woodland spa experience which came with a cream tea. The scones were amazing! And the private hot tub was lovely. We also ate at Tafan y Draig and it was really nice there. The most notable thing about the stay was the staff, all of the staff there were absolutely amazing!!
